Obviously i have never had male bonding time but photo shoots were not what I thought happened when guys hung out. I think its because i have a super cute baby and a really proud Papa. Have you caught the guys in your life doing things like this?

Fishing, Food, and Fighting?
What comes to mind when you think of fishing, food, and fighting? I usually picture a bunch on men having male bonding time doing manly things like talking about poo or playing with fire . ha I know my picture is a stereotype. Well today Keegan and Bill had some male bonding time. I went to run some errands and came home to a happy baby and happy papa which is always a great thing. Later on I picked up my camera and started looking through the pictures, I found these incriminating photos...

OH Mom!
This week I was staring at my sweet little one and teasing him making fun of him and it hit me! When Keegan gets older is he going to make fun of me like I make fun of my mom?!?
As i was thinking about all the things i make fun of my mom for... i realized that the endless giggles we get from it are some of the sweetest moments we have together. As much as i tease her I thank God constantly for giving me the most wonderful mom a girl could have. I only hope that i can be half the mom she has been to me.
I would LOVE to hear about the crazy things your mom's do. Leave a comment or link back to me.
As cute as she is... she makes it WAY to easy to make fun of her. I mean really... she says things like "Rock has the best odds" in a game of rock paper scissor". Its pretty easy to tease her when she styles her hair like Derick Zoolander! My all time favorite things to make fun of my mom for is her being a straight "A" student. Here's why... She called me one day in tears about how she just took a test and actually went to the proctor and asked him if he gave her the wrong test. She was convinced she knew nothing on it. Three days later she gets her results and it was an "A"! Seriously its too easy to tease her.

Granola Bars
These days i feel like the majority of my meals come in bar form. Granola bars have been my go to thing since Keegan was born. They are ridiculously easy to make and they are fully of healthy goodness. If you have never made them you should give it a try! The best part about making granola bars is that you can make them with any add ins that you want.
Basic recipe:
1 cup flour (I use whole wheat)
2 cups oatmeal
2/3 cups whole grain cereal (I use mini wheats crushed up)
1/2 cup of flax seed or wheat germ
1 cup honey (or maple syrup or a mixture)
2/3 cups peanut butter or apple sauce (this helps keep everything together)
2 cups add in (unsweetened coconut, nuts, raisins, craisens, dried blueberries, chocolate chips,or anything else you fancy)
Note: depending on what add ins i use in i like to put spices in as well. cinnamon, nutmeg, or cocoa powder are usually what i use.
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 pan. Mix everything together in a large bowl (i use my hands to make sure its mixed well). Then press the mixture into the 9x13 pan. bake 10-15 minutes. Allow them to cool slightly then cut them and serve or bag up for a grab and go snack!
This weekend i made an apple pie granola bar with raisins (pictured above on the left). I got the idea from my dear friend Nikki's post about granola bars. I did mine just a tad different but they turned out FANTASTIC! Then i made a chocolate coconut granola bar (pictured on the right) and its just as yummy.
If you try this recipe i would love to hear what you put in yours! Have fun with it, the possibilities are endless!

An Egg?!
The longer I live in Korea the more I love Korean people! They are so different from Americans which is a great thing at times and other times its just different! This is a story of one of those great times that made me laugh.
One of our good friends, Stone, told me to rub a raw egg on my face (when he saw the bruising on my face from falling last week). I said ok not thinking anything of it but after i had several other Korean people tell me to do this i figured there must be something to it. I wasn't willing to try it until i asked Stone about it and im glad I did. Here is how our conversation went:
Me: Stone why does everyone keep telling me to rub and egg on my face? what good does it do?
Stone: Chinese say thats dead blood (the bruises) and the egg helps get it out
Me: So what do i do? I just rub raw egg into my skin?
Stone: uhhh it has to be cold. Ill show you (walks to the fridge pulls out an egg and takes the egg still in the shell and rubs it on my face)
Me & Bill: HAHAHAHAHHAAHAH
Stone: Why? (as in why are you laughing)
Bill and I talked about it before asking Stone and we just couldn't figure out why rubbing a raw egg on my face would help. We also thought raw egg- as in a cracked out of the shell raw egg. Once we understood what they meant i obviously went home and tried it. I must say it has helped a bit. Because its cold it helps with the swelling and rubbing it on the bruised area has helped with the circulation to clear it out.
Have you ever heard using an egg this way to help with bruising?

Looks are deceiving
Yesterday one of our dear friends had a birthday. His wife asked me to bake a cake. I was absolutely thrilled to do it, since i love to bake. I asked him what kind of cake he wanted and he asked for a chocolate cake... to be specific a fantastic chocolate cake my mother in law makes. This is the second time I have made the cake.
Sadly the hot as sin weather was not so kind to the cake that I worked so hard on. It melted, slid and looked lopsided. But thankfully looks are deceiving and the cake tasted almost as good as Momma Lisa's. Lets be honest it always tastes better when Momma makes it.
Recipe: Momma Lisa's Chocolate cake
2 cups sugar
1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cups cocoa
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt 2 eggs
1 cuo milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Directions
1: preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9 in round pans. Sift all the dry ingredients onto a large bowl then add everything BUT the The boiling water. After it's all mixed together add the boiling water. The batter should be thin.
2. Bake 30 min. Cool completely.

This was also the first time i tried to make a cake pop... that was a BIG fail. It tasted amazing but as you can see it wouldn't stay on the stick. Once fall comes i will try all of this again.

Baby Feet
Being a stay at home mama I obviously spend a lot of time with my little guy. Since he is so small and doesn't do much more then eat sleep and poo I decided to craft with him... Literally with him ha! I used his feet as stamps.Who doesn't love baby feet? when I see a baby I instantly go looking for sweet little toes.
I know its kinda silly but i had fun with it and besides what Grandparent doesn't love this kind of stuff?
With the little feet prints I decided to make cards for our families back in the states.

Crafting Companion
Meet Park (last name) Mong Mong. Mong Mong literally is the Korean sound for woof woof. We did not name her that but it stuck.
Mong Mong constantly wants to be the center of attention. When we have our bibles in our laps she sits on the bible. If we are playing on the computer she lays on the keyboard. If we are talking baby talk to Keegan she thinks we should be talking to her (I'm pretty sure it's because we talk to our cat like she is a baby don't judge) You get the point...anything we do she is right in the middle of it. My favorite times she does this is when I am crafting. She's just so cute!
I mean really?!? Ha how do you not love this?
Do you have a Crafting Companion? I would LOVE to hear about them.
