Here's how it worked I contacted Karen and told her I would LOVE to be a part of her swap, I answered a few questions about scarves and Karen partnered me with my new friend Beth. We exchanged addresses and then I went on a search for the perfect scarf. Meanwhile Beth did the same for me!

She sent me this beauty which I beyond perfect for my Florida winter. She also sent me Pumpkin Caramel coffee and pumpkin candles. Somehow she knows me so well!

Thank you so much Beth for my wonderful treats! Every time I wear my scarf ill be thinking and praying for you.
This month he has made is extremely easy for me to cheer him on! Not only was he employe of the month, but he also got an amazing promotion!
Thank you husband for working so hard for our family. Your the best!
The little Mr has never had to go to the doctor for anything other then well checks but today we had to take him. We are incredibly thankful it's not the flu or strep throat!
Even though we dont feel great we are making the best of it. We have enjoyed lot of cuddles and t.v. time which is a rare thing in our home.
We also had tortellini soup for dinner which my mom made when we were sick. I always loved it growing up. The Mr always ate fast food when he was sick. What were your go to foods when you were under the weather? <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-89606650281684793242012-10-29T21:41:00.000-04:002012-10-29T21:42:23.557-04:00Let's catch upHi friends!

It's been a while so I figured it was time to catch up.

I know its been about eight months since my last post but frankly life has been pretty boring and I have LOVED it. However there have been some changes. I started in a new salon and so far so good. I forgot how much I loved being a cosmetologist.

What has happened with my little Mr. you ask? Well Keegan went from walking to running in a matter of days. His vocabulary is hysterical and consists of the most random words like Mong Mong (Korean word for woof woof) and Bird. He started preschool this month and LOVES IT! Its been a blast seeing him learn new things and interact with children his own age. He is one social kid, never met a stranger. He even got to help carve his first pumpkin!

Right now we are putting a lot of effort in building relationships with churches and people for our next trip overseas. Please be praying for that, its going to be a lot of work but we are hoping to do everything we need to do in a short amount of time!

What's new with you all?<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-60793119866069051072012-03-09T15:32:00.001-05:002012-03-09T16:41:01.184-05:00B.F.F.Meet Kylee Rose. She is Keegan's new best friend. Her mama and I work together so the littles get to play while we do hair. Kylee and Keegan pretty much do everything together. They play together, eat together, and crawl around (sometimes on each other). One of them being lizards! And I am convinced that there are two lizards taunting me every time I go to work. These lizards are not just your normal looking lizards. They are significantly bigger and they have disgusting curly tails.

I'm also convinced the stalk me... You see they live in a crack that is inconveniently located right outside my job. Every time they know I am coming or going they run right toward my feet which are obviously in sandals.

These mini iguanas are a constant reminder that God has created them for a purpose and all though I don't see it, He thinks they are beautiful and not terrifying.

Is there something in your life that has a purpose that you have not taken the time to thank God for?

This photo does not show the beastliness of the lizard that taunts me. Just trust me... Mini iguana is the proper description.... <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-65675261774927411692012-02-22T23:16:00.000-05:002012-02-22T23:17:39.453-05:00Homemade Body ButterIt's been a while since I have blogged. There are two reasons for that. The first being that I keep forgetting my camera everywhere I go. The second is that I really haven't being going anywhere or doing anything other then seeing all of our family.
Any way I finally did something fun enough to share with you all. Tonight I made a body butter that is pretty amazing! I first got the idea from Pintrest (that lead me here) and then modified it just a bit. I used almond oil instead of avocado oil because almond oil has a longer shelf life. Its very similar to a Lush product but does not cost as much.
Here is what you will need:
3 TBS beeswax
3 TBS shea butter
3 TBS almond oil
10 drops lavender essential oil

1. In a double broiler heat beeswax and shea butter until its in a liquid form. I used a crock pot and it worked fine
2. Add almond oil and lavender and mix well.
3. Place in the mold until it is in a solid form.
4. Pop out of mold if desired or leave it in a dish and scrape off a little as needed.

To use: Rub all the bar over hands or dry skin (such as heals) and enjoy! It may feel a little bit greasy for the first few minutes but it soaks in quickly leaving you with soft skin!

For the mold I used old mint tins and decorated the outside so I can keep it in my purse with me. For the rest of the mixture I placed it in mini muffin tins and stored in a mason jar.

It really is that simple, smells amazing, inexpensive and the best part no chemicals!
The Mr. and I are Florida kids. We love summer, flip flops and of course swimming. The best part of being a Florida kid is that we get to enjoy these things 98% of the time! Today we went to a pool party and Keegan loved the pool unlike the last attempt. I see swimming lessons in our future.

The Mr. and I both start our new jobs tomorrow. I will be back in a salon and Bill will be working at Lowe's. One of the reasons we came back to the States was to spend time with family and to work on student loans. God has provided jobs for us! We are excited to see what God has in store for us while we are here but our hearts are over seas and we are hoping to return soon! And pure trouble! He moves so quickly now and he is starting to pull up and stand on his own. He follows us into different rooms and goes off on his own to play. And by play obviously I mean take all his toys out of the basket as quickly as he possibly can. I love his little mischievous personality. He's just his Daddy. But today we experienced the sweetest thing do far. My niece was born and we got to be there moments after she made her debut! She is a beautiful 8lb 20in long healthy baby. She has not been named yet which makes me giggle since it took us several days to decide on Keegan's name. Now this baby is special to me not only because my favorite job in the world is being "T" (what my nephew calls me) or Imo ("ee-mo" what my sweet Charlotte calls me ).This baby is extra special because her momma has been my dear friend since we were five. Twenty years of, graduations, marriages, kids, and everything else we have been friends. Congratulations James and Beky!

Does anyone else LOVE being an aunt as much as I do?
This Christmas was very special. Not only did we celebrate the birth of Christ, we got to celebrate with our family, and that's not all! <strike>said in the infomercial voice</strike> Keegan got his first tooth! Keegan had been a big drolly mess for about a week and his Uncle Jimmy said within a few days that tooth will be out and sure enough it happened. We saw it coming Christmas eve and Christmas morning it was there!
People brought us food almost every day for two weeks. It was seriously the greatest thing a new Mom could receive. The sweet Greaney family made us Basil Chicken Curry. AMAZING does not even describe how delicious it was, she shared her recipe with me, and I would like to share it with you all.

Basil Chicken Curry
½ tsp. ground cardamom (can be made w/out this and it still tastes fine)
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground cloves
½ tsp. ground coriander
½ tsp. cumin
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground pepper
¼ tsp. ground turmeric
½ tsp. chile powder
1 lb. chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
1 T. olive oil (or coconut oil)
1 large red onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 red pepper, sliced
1 large zucchini, sliced
2 small eggplants, sliced
1 T. arrowroot or cornstarch
1 (14 ounce) can coconut milk
1 T. peeled and finely chopped ginger
5 T. snipped fresh basil (dried basil tastes just about as good as fresh; just don’t add as much and give it time to soften up in the curry before you eat it)

Mix spices together and toss with chicken in a bowl. Set aside for about 30 minutes. Sauté veggies in oil over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Set aside in a small bowl. Add chicken and sauté until tender and cooked through. Add more oil if needed. Add arrowroot to coconut milk and pour into skillet, cooking till bubbly and thickened. Add veggies, ginger, basil and cook till heated through. Serve over brown rice.
Its just not something I am used to. I can appreciate it for a little bit but after about two weeks my heart is longing for the beach. Although the cold is not my favorite i do LOVE some parts like this super awesome baby beard!

Because of this beard I have an interest in learning how to crochet. Do you think I can do it? And where do I start?Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-33459066879717189142011-11-17T07:21:00.001-05:002011-11-17T07:47:56.116-05:00Laundry: A Never Ending Battle

Laundry is one of my least favorite chores to do around the house. I feel like all i do these days is laundry. Between cloth diapering, being spit up on, peed on, and drooled on we do a LOT of laundry.

This handsome little man makes it a lot more fun these days. He is absolutely hysterical with the laundry basket. He army crawls like nobody's business to it every chance he gets.
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-91050959358911498812011-11-10T07:38:00.001-05:002011-11-10T08:04:06.177-05:00Japchae! Sweet potato noodles
Since our time in Korea is coming to an end i have come to the realization that i will not be able to eat Korean food every other day. I am not ok with that! We LOVE Korean food! So now that I have realized we will not have access to Korean food i have decided i am going to learn to do it myself. This week the sweet ladies at church offered to teach me how to make Japchae.

Japchae is a sweet potato noodle with mixed vegetables. Its one of the best side dishes in Korea. I think its a safe dish...some are fantastic, some are simply okay, but its never really bad. You can find a recipe here but I have seen this made multiple times and there has never been any kind of measuring. Just rough measurements and adjusting to taste.

Do you have a foreign dish that you love to make? If so what is it?

Keegan has now started eatting "real" food and let me just say he LOVES it. He has been eyeing the food Bill and I eat for a little while now so we gave him a spoon and let him pretend to eat. Now that he actually was given food he devoured it!

Keegan's aunts and uncles were just as excited to celebrate this milestone whit him as we were.

I am SO EXCITED to make him baby food once he turns 6 months, which happens in 9 day. I have been looking forward to this season since before he was born.

Any tips/suggestion/ideas that you have found useful in making baby food?Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-57254342815909823472011-11-02T06:49:00.000-04:002011-11-02T06:49:33.739-04:00Trick-or-TreatIts Keegan's first halloween. Im so glad that we have friends that are love our baby so much. Even if they are willing to give our baby candy. Good thing he cant open wrappers yet!
Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05382697005736578314noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747562356743360580.post-55410388419143425262011-10-31T08:08:00.000-04:002011-10-31T08:08:27.249-04:00Its OfficialThis is a bittersweet time for the Walton family. We have purchased our one-way tickets to return to the states, we are officially going back for a while. We have been in Korea for over two years now and it has become home.

The sweet part about this is that we to see our family. Most of whom have not gotten to meet our little Keegan. I am so excited about this part that i want to go all over the US to introduce him to all our loved ones. We are already planning foods to cook with, like asparagus and sweet potatoes.

But the bitter part is leaving our lives here in Korea. Korea is where the Mr. and I had our first home together. It is where we got to first meet our son. Korea is a country full of people we love, food we will miss and adventures we could not have anywhere else. Goodbyes are huge in Korean culture and this one is gonna be huge for us.

Please be praying for us as we head back. We leave Korea on December 13th! And yet we have much to do before we leave.
