Let's catch up

Hi friends!

It's been a while so I figured it was time to catch up.

I know its been about eight months since my last post but frankly life has been pretty boring and I have LOVED it. However there have been some changes. I started in a new salon and so far so good. I forgot how much I loved being a cosmetologist.

What has happened with my little Mr. you ask? Well  Keegan went from walking to running in a matter of days. His vocabulary is hysterical and consists of the most random words like Mong Mong (Korean word for woof woof) and Bird. He started preschool this month and LOVES IT! Its been a blast seeing him learn new things and interact with children his own age. He is one social kid, never met a stranger. He even got to help carve his first pumpkin!

Right now we are putting a lot of effort in building relationships with churches and people for our next trip overseas. Please be praying for that, its going to be a lot of work but we are hoping to do everything we need to do in a short amount of time!

What's new with you all?

B.F.F.

Meet Kylee Rose. She is Keegan's new best friend. Her mama and I work together so the littles get to play while we do hair. Kylee and Keegan pretty much do everything together. They play together, eat together, and crawl around (sometimes on each other). Basically they love each other!

Im convinced...

Although I am loving being in Florida there are a few things I hate. One of them being lizards! And I am convinced that there are two lizards taunting me every time I go to work. These lizards are not just your normal looking lizards. They are significantly bigger and they have disgusting curly tails.

I'm also convinced the stalk me... You see they live in a crack that is inconveniently located right outside my job. Every time they know I am coming or going they run right toward my feet which are obviously in sandals.

These mini iguanas are a constant reminder that God has created them for a purpose and all though I don't see it, He thinks they are beautiful and not terrifying.

Is there something in your life that has a purpose that you have not taken the time to thank God for?

This photo does not show the beastliness of the lizard that taunts me. Just trust me... Mini iguana is the proper description....

Homemade Body Butter

It's been a while since I have blogged. There are two reasons for that. The first being that I keep forgetting my camera everywhere I go. The second is that I really haven't being going anywhere or doing anything other then seeing all of our family.
Any way I finally did something fun enough to share with you all. Tonight I made a body butter that is pretty amazing! I first got the idea from Pintrest (that lead me here) and then modified it just a bit. I used almond oil instead of avocado oil because almond oil has a longer shelf life.  Its very similar to a Lush product but does not cost as much.
Here is what you will need:
3 TBS beeswax
3 TBS shea butter
3 TBS almond oil
10 drops lavender essential oil

1. In a double broiler heat beeswax and shea butter until its in a liquid form. I used a crock pot and it worked fine
2. Add almond oil and lavender and mix well.
3. Place in the mold until it is in a solid form.
4. Pop out of mold if desired or leave it in a dish and scrape off a little as needed.

To use: Rub all the bar over hands or dry skin (such as heals) and enjoy! It may feel a little bit greasy for the first few minutes but it soaks in quickly leaving you with soft skin!

For the mold I used old mint tins and decorated the outside so I can keep it in my purse with me. For the rest of the mixture I placed it in mini muffin tins and stored in a mason jar.

It really is that simple, smells amazing, inexpensive and the best part no chemicals!

Pool Party Baby

The Mr. and I are Florida kids. We love summer, flip flops and of course swimming. The best part of being a Florida kid is that we get to enjoy these things 98% of the time! Today we went to a pool party and Keegan loved the pool unlike the last attempt. I see swimming lessons in our future.

I am so thankful to be in Florida right now so we can enjoy the pool in the middle of winter!

A New Discovery

Keegan has discovers his love for animals... Especially gigantic slobbery dogs! It is absolulty hysterical to watch him crawl as fast as he can toward them usually resulting in them running away. When he finally gets to touch them his high pitched squeal and giggle is like music to my ears.
Although I am not a dog person in glad my little one enjoys then so much....Now we just have to teach him to be gentle.

Thats My Boy!

I have a serious love for lemon.... And so does Keegan! I'm not sure why we thought to give it to him but he really enjoyed it and used it as a teething ring.
