Homemade Body Butter

It's been a while since I have blogged. There are two reasons for that. The first being that I keep forgetting my camera everywhere I go. The second is that I really haven't being going anywhere or doing anything other then seeing all of our family.
Any way I finally did something fun enough to share with you all. Tonight I made a body butter that is pretty amazing! I first got the idea from Pintrest (that lead me here) and then modified it just a bit. I used almond oil instead of avocado oil because almond oil has a longer shelf life.  Its very similar to a Lush product but does not cost as much.
Here is what you will need:
3 TBS beeswax
3 TBS shea butter
3 TBS almond oil
10 drops lavender essential oil

1. In a double broiler heat beeswax and shea butter until its in a liquid form. I used a crock pot and it worked fine
2. Add almond oil and lavender and mix well.
3. Place in the mold until it is in a solid form.
4. Pop out of mold if desired or leave it in a dish and scrape off a little as needed.

To use: Rub all the bar over hands or dry skin (such as heals) and enjoy! It may feel a little bit greasy for the first few minutes but it soaks in quickly leaving you with soft skin!

For the mold I used old mint tins and decorated the outside so I can keep it in my purse with me. For the rest of the mixture I placed it in mini muffin tins and stored in a mason jar.

It really is that simple, smells amazing, inexpensive and the best part no chemicals!
